Lyrique Libertas Eb Soprano clarinet

Our New Lyrique Eb clarinet sends a convincing echo to the Leblanc Opus Eb I designed back in the 1990s. At that time it was arguably the best Eb soprano clarinet ever made. Be that as it may, this new Eb is even better. Why? Because it is made of natural hard rubber.

This means it can sit in the case for months, as Eb clarinets often do, and when you need it you can pull it out and play it as much as you want without ever worrying about it cracking like wood clarinets can and often do. The risk of cracking is especially high when wood clarinets have dried out after long periods disuse. With a hard rubber Eb clarinet you will find that it plays exactly the same as it last did before you put it in its case.  No worries about a new break-in period or anything like that.

The Eb will come with several optional upgrades. Players who don't already have a quality mouthpiece can purchase a Vandoren 5RV Lyre for $95. We will also be offering a cutback barrel in several different lengths so you can play the Eb using Bb clarinet reeds. This will be ready very soon and will be available as an upgrade for $130. We also plan on making a bell extension thought it's about a month away still. When ready it will available as an upgrade for $150.

In addition, we are offering this Eb at a very affordable introductory  price of $1995. This price will be good until September 1st.  Even if you don't have the ready funds to purchase the Eb, you can still do so by taking advantage of our no interest payment plans customized for you. If you are interested in setting up a payment plan just give us a call.  So, for the clarinetist it's a win, win, win, WIN!

Comments from Clarinetists

"Having just returned from the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest 2025 in Ft.Worth Texas, I had the pleasure of testing the new Lyrique Libertas Eb clarinet, designed by my long-time friend Tom Ridenour. This Eb clarinet is outstanding for its intonation, evenness of tone throughout and effortless playability. It’s hard to imagine an Eb clarinet as being fun to play unless one does it a lot, but even the part-time player will do well with this instrument. The best part is it’s quite affordable for those on a budget. But make no mistake this is a professional quality instrument. Congratulations to Tom and the team at Ridenour Clarinet Products for designing an instrument that represents the best in clarinet design".

"I've been playing the Libertas Eb every day for the last 10 days and am really pleased with it. The first thing that jumped out at me was how full and rich the sound was.
I'm really enjoying playing this one on this really difficult piece with MAJOR, exposed solos! I definitely feel more secure on this horn than on any of the others I've played, including my Concerto. Another thing I'm going to mention is that I don't play the Eb clarinet very often. Most years I perform on it once or twice. Of the 3 or 4 different Eb's I've played in the last 5 years, the Libertas is definitely the most reliable. I usually struggle to find good reeds for the Eb but strangely enough ALL of the reeds I've tried, including a couple I played in a concert in June, worked better on my Libertas Eb. I'm really glad to have it for this upcoming performance".
